Reducing Environmental Impact

The continuous climate change has an increasing adverse affect on the planet. Our aim is to make Unilever activities more sustainable and encourage our consumers, suppliers and others to do the same in order to contribute towards the global goal of halving the environmental impact.

Reducing the impact of our products

Unilever’s global aim is to double the size of the business, and to do it in a manner which also reduces our total environmental impact by halve. We have studied the lifecycle of our products, from the sourcing of raw materials to consumer usage and disposal, and have identified the most significant environmental impacts created during the product life cycle.

Unilever Pakistan will focus on the below mentioned areas to contribute towards the bigger goal:

  • Reducing Greenhouse Gases by improving soap manufacturing, moving our distribution centres closer to the manufacturing sites, cross-docking and joint logistics initiatives

  • Optimisation of water circuits through water loss tree during manufacturing and Effluent treatment

  • Waste management during manufacturing, product packaging materials used and employee engagement throughout the business operations
